Day 84 of 365 Day Challenge
Challenge: Do you think crying is a sign of weakness or strength? In regards to the stated question above, I believe that it can be both, depending on the situation. That seems to be a paradoxical arrangement, but my reasoning is quite simple. Crying as a sign of weakness: For those who encounter failure once and cry: Instead of crying at the first sign of loss, we should treat it as a learning experience and grow from the failure. It is our failures which shape us to be stronger and more learned individuals. If we cannot expect failures of ourselves, then that is not practical. For those who constantly cry when something doesn’t go their way: That’s just whining. If you can’t pick up the pace and shoulder your own burden, then you’re being too dependent on others and in a way, selfish. Crying as a sign of strength: There’s a quote I once encountered on my friend’s blog. ”Crying isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s showing you’ve been strong for too long.” If it should be that after a long time of hard work and perseverance that one should break down, that doesn’t mean they’re weak. Crying, therefore, can be seen as a form of release. It’s all right to cry. Being strong doesn’t mean always putting up a front. It means being able to accept everything as it comes and to overcome them. With sweat, pain, and tears, you will come to experience the joys of living. That’s my view on the matter anyways. :)
